Dear Lakewood Family,

I pray that you all are well. The COVID-19 pandemic has presented unique challenges to churches all over the world, ours included. We are constantly evaluating our discipleship strategies in order to serve you better, and are attempting to address this ever-changing situation on two fronts: content and care.

Content

Even while our church campus activities are cancelled, Lakewood will continue her mission to make disciples.

  1. Sunday Online Worship Opportunities: Pastor Jeremy will be releasing videos on Sundays and Wednesdays. On Sunday mornings, Pastor Jeremy will release a video recording of a worship service on YouTube. The sermon series during this season is Hopeful Exiles: A Study of 1 Peter. On Sunday evenings, Pastor Jeremy will host a Facebook live bible study walking through Romans as well as a live Q&A. Everyone subscribed to the email list will receive a link to the video, and a similar link to Lakewood’s Facebook page. You can comment or ask questions as you wish.
  2. Worldview Wednesday on YouTube: Pastor Jeremy will continue recording special editions of Worldview Wednesday. The focus will be on how Christians should live in a godward manner while responding to a global pandemic.

Again, our church is uniquely positioned to be an example of loving our neighbors, and we are committed to equipping one another to do so. If you want more COVID-19 response information, I have provided links that aided in our decision at the bottom of the page. Also, there is a contact form attached. If you have any questions, let us know.

Care

The deacons and I talk frequently about how to best care for all of you. We are doing our best to reach out to you all in an effort to understand your needs and how we can serve you at this time. Keep the following in mind regarding our care for you during these days:

  1. Communication: Email correspondence and Facebook posting will be more frequent during this time. Please reply or make comments to let us know how you are doing. Be intentional about your communication with members of your Home Group/Sunday School Class. Let’s care for each other well during this temporary absence.
  2. Family Ministry: The Deacons will be checking on families frequently during these days. Let them know your needs, and how we as a church can help you.

  3. Stewardship: Online giving is set up on our website. If you can give through that means, we are ready to process that. If you would rather mail your offering in, feel free to do so. We will gather a few tellers to count those gifts later next week.
